Frank Zappa's lyrics tend to annoy me as well. His music is very well composed but his voice/lyrics prevent me from listening to him on any kind of regular basis.

I like to dance and enjoy hip-hip for that aspect but some of the lyrics are just horrible. There are some great remixes that I like to dance to but can't stand the lyrics...

I guess the answer is to Smile & Nod. One can only be responsible for the stuff that they, themselves put out into the world and not for other's actions.

yeah that pesky intellectual crap, give me meaningless lyrics so I can get high on drugs and pretend I'm saving the world...
I guess the lyrics would have bugged me to if I have not stuck around high school at least long enough to learn the meaning of satire....

Lyrics that bug, Sugaree... and Tennessee Jed... get a grip... lame! bubble gum.

It's kind of tough to dance to Billy The Mountain.

BTW, I love Zappa. Really, really glad I got to see him multiple times.

I think those lyrics are all right, if not deep and profound. There are Dead lyrics that don't rate very highly, such as Looks Like Rain and Let It Grow (the latter is a beautiful song but the lyrics are a little embarrassing).
